Default HIIT outdoors - Tips & Routines

Wondered whether any of you had any routines or tips for doing High intensity interval training outdoors?

Looking to lose a bit of stubborn fat and build a bit of cardio at the same time.
I'm running at the moment about 4 times a week (5 miles), but want to shift the last few pounds.

Obviously there's sprints but is there anything else you have found has worked?

I used to go for a bike ride (5 or 6 miles) then do some HIIT sprinting, then cycle home for a mile or two afterwards.

Basically start with x4 sets of sprinting full out for 30 seconds then jog back to your starting point over e.g 60 seconds or 90 seconds.

It has to be 100% full on sprinting though.

Start from that at work up to e.g x4 30 second sprints with 30 second recovery. Then extend the number of reps or the time for sprint + recovery (45 seconds, 60 seconds etc.)
