The one star Silver Jubilee Hotel in Turkey many years ago was the worst hotel I ever stayed in and I've never had a better holiday in my life.

Best would be a toss up between the Ritz Carlton in Miami South Beach or Grosvenor House in London.

Worst would be The Thistle in Manchester

    Best:

either the Hotel Royal Ricc in Brno for a small boutique hotel or San Francisco Hilton for faded American Dream grandeur (and amazing views). Stayed in an amazing hotel in KL too but can't remember the name of it.

Worst hotel is the Formulae one/Days Inn in Stockton Industrial Park or one of the shitty motels I used to have stay down in Camberley when I was working at my old main office.

I stayed at a pub in Hammersmith one away game, the door handle to the room was a fork shoved through that metal square hole thing thats left when a handle comes off.
Took ages to open fron the thin handle side, but worked really well from the forked side.
There was also a deflated blow up doll, folded up on top of the wardrobe
    A friend of a friends pub, £10 a night

I like Lumley Castle and also a canny Eco hotel at Mexico with wildlife running around would be my best

    Best: Luxor in Vegas

Worst: The one catering specifically for Stag & Hen do's my mate booked in Blackpool. Luckily I won the toss and got the bed that wasn't below the TV hanging precariously off the wall.

Its still there I think. We used to stop there when it was relatively new (92-94ish) as worked in billingham and that was the base for a night out into stockton, boro or tall trees through work.

You`ve truly never discovered the nadir until you stay a night with Rose (rofl) at the Ringdale, Blackpool. Everything about this place is just dog fucking rough.

I've stayed in loads of great hotels but oddly all the 5* hotels are amazing but I don't feel relaxed in them, I stayed in a 4* hotel in Pattaya that was amazing, also got to give a mention to the B&B I stayed in at Blackpool lovely couple and moved the earth to make sure we enjoyed our stay.
Stayed at a manor/hotel a few years ago, we enjoyed it so much we got married there

    Worst
Can't rememeber the name, a 5* in isle of dogs (think it was International or something) the food was crap and very very expesive. Loads of building going so that left us with a beautiful view. All this for a small sum of £250 a night for a double jacuzzi room. Never again

Worked away for 3 years so out of those that I booked myself

Worst: The Shalimar Hotel in Hounslow.

    http://www.shalimarhotel.co.uk/rooms.html

The tag line is Cost Effective Luxury

All the hotels near Heathrow cost an arm and a leg so I had to doss here. Kipped in challet things out back which were noisey as fuck with low flying planes and like a bad Asian version of hi-di-hi!

Also: Travelodge East Lancs road near St Helens. Twas Grand National week could get fuck in Liverpool so had the pleasure of this dive. No door key, TV remote and a dingy, dirty room were just starters. The windows let in the noise of every fucking car and lorry that drove by and I'm not a light sleeper! Disgrace for a big chain.

Best: Summerhill House near Dorchester, lovely place, more of a very upmarket B & B with great views of the rolling Dorset countryside.
