why is 'grassing' wrong?
surely its only criminals who claim that? should folk just be allowed to do anything they want with no fear of police?

It isn't. Reporting crimes and someone describing it as 'grassing' means they are no better than scum.

more people shoudl "grass" and the country woudl be a better place...

Depends, id never 'grass on my mate who changed the price on a jumper to get it for £20 instead of £80 but I would 'grass on an insane killer hell bent on killing as many policemen as he can.

Only bullies think grassing is wrong, per se. [Except if they're the ones doingthe grassing, of course]
Agree that sometimes it might be better to talk to the person involved instead first.
