Default Football rules, need a shake up?

The offside and Hand ball rules just show why we need a shake up of the rules.

    For example :-

In Fifa's Laws of the Game 2005, Law 12 says a free-kick or penalty will be awarded if a player "handles the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)".

Page 67 of the document gives "additional information for referees, assistant referees and fourth officials".

It adds: "Referees are reminded that deliberately handling the ball is normally punished only by a direct free-kick or penalty kick if the offence occurred inside the penalty area.

"A caution or dismissal is not normally required."

However, the document fails to describe what constitutes deliberate handball, which places the responsibility firmly on the referee and referees' assistants.

that to me is as clear as mud, and i have no idea whats offside anymore, offside rule is perfect for refs/linesman to make mistakes.

we should have simple, easy to follow rules and then we can enjoy our drink after the match instead of all banter sepp blatter wants us to have!

FIFA need to clean-up the game and take a strong stance:
    • Against diving, play-acting and cheating
    • Against players questioning referees decisions, surrounding the ref, back-chatting etc
    • Against players encroaching on free-kicks
    • For 4th official / video evidence to be used in key decisions (penatlies, dubious goals, dubious sending off decisions etc)

Sounds good that like, would that count against England stars or players from the top 4?

Don't know if its just me but are REF's getting too friendly with some players?

Something needs to change, when I was a kid it wasn't as often we were talking about dodgy refs, normally only when Telford mills came to town.

Though in fairness, technology has changed that, in more ways than one.

No-one hand balls deliberately unless they're punching it off the line like Suarez. It's stupid.

Spot on mate, wouldn't want to be a ref myself like.

But don't you think unclear rules really makes things harder than they should be?

Newcastle game a player picked the ball up and again today a player grabbed the ball even though the whistle hadn't went.

Aye, I guess they need a bit of ambiguity though as not everything is totally black and white.

How far would you like to look back before the goal is scored?
