Where are the new music megastars?
It's a question being asked by the BBC. There are more young songwriters in the UK than ever before, so why are all the biggest live acts over 40?
IMO I think it's that society today are deluded, not just in music, in everything, they just accept shite.
I sat through one episode of X-Factor the other Saturday and hand on heart there is not a drop of talent between any of them imo. 90% of all TV adverts advertising some tart's new CD are auto tuned, you can hear it plain as day, they just can't sing, simple as that.
Deluded parents telling their deluded children how great their voice sounds, they go on some talent show and are told by lying money grabbers they are brilliant. I sat watching it thinking how can so many people think this is talent? They can't sing for shit!
Take Floyd, U2, Queen, Dire Straits, Stones, Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart etc All bands or singers that have talent, great song writers, great musicians and play with passion, power and presence. You can't manufacture this, you have to be born with it.
So Mr Cowell, where is all the new megastars to take their place? Will young? Once the last of the greats have gone we will be left with auto tuned bull shit singing about nowt.

You sound a bit confused mate - might as well compare the boxing merits of Joe Frazier with those of Alan Carr

She seems like an interesting lady, but her songs just blend away to nothing.

I also read that article but in all honesty it shite.
The reality is that labels can't invest in talent like they once did as the money isn't there. The BBC often, VERY often provoke a discussion they have no real intent opn follwing. They are a cowardly organisation, set the question then sit back and watch as other, more passionate informed peopl argue about it. They are the shit amongst shite.
The BBC is a fucking cowardly bastard of an organisation.

Yes she can draw a crowd and sell records. However if she dressed normal and was not controversial I doubt if she would even get a contract cos she is a shite singer. Whitney Houston can sing, she has talent... Lady bla bla is just a wierd slag and that is why so many people love her.

She is one of the best singers around at the minute if you even care to actually listen to some of her acoustic stuff.
She's certainly not shite, mind.

But she doesn't dress normal and IS controversial...that's the point . I never actually said if I found her any good or not - only that she is a megastar. For what it's worth though, I do think she's very good. If you see her do some of her jazz stuff it's honestly excellent (my opinion like).
