    Default Defoe

    Hasn't scored one single goal (in the league at least) this season ... nailed on to bury one on Saturday then

    I think we've got a very, very good chance to beat them - but I'm tempted to bet on him to score...

    Btw, I think Crouch has two and Pav five. Rather strong to be as high up as they are given that their strikers have been so poor...

    Shows what an utter joke Capello's selection process is when he and Agbonlahor, with a single league goal between them this season, make up two of England's 'strikers' (and I use the loosest possible definition of the word) for the forthcoming friendly. In the last two weeks alone, Kieran Richardson has done more to warrant a 'striking' berth in that squad than those two clowns have all season.

    Hopefully:

    Redknapp believes the extra workload on Van der Vaart is responsible for his injury.

    Redknapp, who cannot work with his squad until next Friday because of international commitments, said: "He covered amazing distance at Blackburn in midweek, more than anyone on the pitch and he did a job wide right.

    "Maybe it took a toll on him. Three games in a week, Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday, may be more than he's used to.

    "That's when he gets fatigued and picks up injuries. He's not fit to travel, he's really sore. We'll see how he is next week, but I don't see any of the players until Friday morning, it's crazy isn't it?"

    We'll be okay. We're too good a team for him to score against us....you just have to look at his international record to see that he only scores against shite. Not that the media ever pick up on this

    League goals;

    v d Vaart 10
    Bale 7
    Pav 5
    Lennon 3
    Hutton 2
    Crouch 2

    ... six midfielders with at least one goal though. We've got Kieran's four (in the last three games) and one from Hendo; that's it.

    11 league games he's played, so you'd expect him to at least have two or three...
