    Default Poor Preparation

In light of India being number one in the world, wouldnt it have been advisable to have more than one warm up game

Playing in the Windies is hardly preparation for playing on English wickets

In addition they wont come accross wickets as flat as Taunton in the test series

cue a load of comments re excuses for Jimmy

Seen the white test and that exactly what it is - a prepared get out for Anderson doing the business yet again. We had it in Australia and now its a case of conditions suiting him and India being ill prepared.

India 90-6 in their first knock at Taunton. Be funny if Somerset batted on and kept them in the field.

and what did England do in Australia what they hadnt done in the previous 24 years, played two 4 day warm up games

when you start your league season over here as a clubbie, the vast majority play more than one warm up game

I wonder if Strauss has the influence to do that - he won't want to give them another chance to bat their way into form.

    what goes round comes around.

we can expect similar treatment when we go on tour if we dont give them another chance to bat

Do you not think Somerset will tell him where to go and push for a (relatively) prestigious win though?

That's my point - best for England is Somerset batting but that would be very negative on Somerset's part.
