David Rathband memorial

There is a massive police presence in Newcastle today and the marine unit was about all last week checking drains etc.
In addition to his funeral there was a memorial service on 10th March.
I don't want to open up old, potentially offensive arguments however I think there should be a line drawn as to how much money comes out of public coffers for such things.

I noted in the paper that Rathband had seized Moats trailer and it pissed Moat off when he got it back without being charged with any offence, apparentley this fuelled his hatred of the police

Interesting. I am sure Northumbria Police categorically stated David Rathband had never had any previous dealings with Moat.

I wonder if they'd be prepared to release the uncensored Moat letters.

I see Moat's father was in the paper at the weekend claiming that Rathband "being unkind" to Moat may have caused him to shoot at him.
