That's alright. It means you're up in time to join the picket line.

Wrap up warm though, it's a bit chilly.

welcome to the real word, people who say stuff like this must not think. By saying stuff like that what are you asking for? Answer: Public sector workers should have less of a pension, because my pension is crap? that's it really.

Well done so instead of campaigning for a good pension for all, you are campaigning for a crap pension for all.

Please step back and listen to what you are asking for.

And this full strike and the other one early in the year was and is to improve pensions for all including the state pension. So where as thousands of public sector workers are marching today for a better deal for all, you are sat at your computer asking for all pensions to be crap. Bravo

To be fair, that's not actually true is it?

It's fair enough that strikes are taking place to try and prevent the further degradation of the public sector pensions, but let's not claim they're doing something they're not.

An opinion poll commissioned by BBC News suggests 61% of people believe public sector workers are justified in going on strike over pension changes.

    http://www.unison.org.uk/pensions/

    From the home page:

This is an historic week for our union.

From the Shetland Isles to Southampton, nurses, social workers, PCSOs, librarians, dinner ladies, teaching assistants, bin men and paramedics - among many other public sector workers - will be standing shoulder to shoulder and marching, demonstrating, holding rallies, and even painting children’s faces, as millions strike to protect public sector pensions.

Our members are not asking for more – they just want the pension benefits they signed up for to stand.

    http://e-activist.com/ea-action/acti...paign.id=11307

    On the strike page:

Strike action taken on the 30 June by over 750,000 workers put the cuts to public sector pensions at the top of the national agenda, and the campaign has grown to such a level now that around 20 trade unions are planning to take part or ballot members for strike action on 30 November.

wow, sounds like its exactly what we are doing?
The unions may well want better pensions for all, and they may have separate campaigns for them.

The strikes today, and all the literature I have seen about them (including the links you have provided - see above), refer to defending the current pension rights.
