I've no idea, no one's ever discussed that on here

he has spent a fortune and signed 33 players, it just so happens we had assets to sell to enable this

Just because the assets were here when he arrived doesn't mean he has spent nowt does it, whether he uses new or existing money it still spending

Sick of reading about this 'he's spent nothing' shite, do you think the 33 players were free

Aye mate, O'Neill would never have sold Henderson or Bent. At least that's what he whispers to you as you assume the position.

you miss my point completely, just sick of hearing about how he has spent nowt and we should stick with him because he generates his own funds, errr no he doesn't he inherited a massive squad which had value

He has pretty much sold off all the silver and looking through our squad we don't really have many saleable assets left, Colback in a year or 2 perhaps but no stand out stars.

He will have to actually spend new money to continue his scatter gun approach to buying players, the his net spend is minus £30m will these same people be calling for his head as he has suddenly spent a fortune.

A thought - he's never been in a charge of the acquisitions or sales. He and Quinny confirmed this.

Maybe we agree (as he's got fuck all to do with generating funds). Just saying.

    Precisely.

Up front, he sold Kenwyne Jones so that he could buy Asamoah Gyan.

He sold Darren Bent and bought Connor Wickham and Ji Dong Won.

In midfield, he sold Lorik Cana and spent more than that on Craig Gardner.

In defence, he sold Danny Collins, and used a similar amount of money to bring in Marcos Angeleri and Matt Kilgallon.

How many of those strengthened the team?

Is he meant to get credit for ripping the quality out of the side?

Is he meant to get credit for wasting the brilliant opportunity that he had to turn quantity into quality (when he inherited a squad of 55 players from Keane)?

Is he meant to get credit for balancing the books on the basis of muddling through with 5 highly paid loan signings last year, only one of which - by far the worst of which - is still here?

Is he meant to get credit for transfers which leave us with a squad without a left back, without a left winger, or any player who has ever scored more than 6 goals in a season in it?

You forget he inherited a team with no balance. Short of a quality left back and left winger and bought in.....oh hang on.
