A word his predecessor struggled to understand.

His predecessor had a major transformation job to do. MON has the luxury of started with a decent base.

I was a Bruce In-er but he had stability and for whatever reasons chose to regenerate the squad in the summer

However, us signing only 2 or 3 players over the summer will have this place in meltdown

    This

The depth we have now is down to Bruce

Was happy to see him go but doesn't deserve the constant slagging off

We are winning and have some good players. He has no need to rock the boat, Bruce on the other hand did, with the exception of Bent who did it for him.

The squad only requires freshening, and we are now in a position where we can cherry pick our targets, all of the credit for that must go to Bruce. Whether or not he would have followed this mantle and isntead got us a whole new team this summer we will never know. Results wise we were gone for all money when he left, quality wise we were not, as is showing.

    1) replacing departees
    2) reducing dependencies on transient loaners
    3) reducing dependencies on the injury prone
    4) taking advantage of good deals available
    5) providing for the future
    6) establishing more cover for more positions
    7) reducing the wage bill
    8) building a good dressing room

At a guess, like. Each to his own, but I don't think we've had stability in many years, until (hopefully) now.

Bruce inherited the following players (among others)....Gordon, Bardsley, Ferdinand, Collins (D), Colback, Malbranque, Whitehead, Tainio, Leadbitter, Richardson, Jones, Cisse, Reid.

Throw in the fact that the Bent deal was all but sealed and there really was no need for the 30 odd players he signed to be brought in.

= not worth keeping (for various reasons). And are you saying Keane signed Bent, apart from dotting the Is and crossing the Ts?
