Was there a couple of years ago at Excaret. The town is one long main drag with loads of little shops, bars and restaurants along it. Fella's whispering "Charlie" in me ear at the far end of the drag late at night.
Only went into town 3 times though. Taxi drivers rule the roost apparently.

Riu palace riviera Maya or Riu tequila, stayed in the first one this year and it was top notch. Had use of all the other Riu ones including the tequila and that seemed to be spot on as well

Go 250 miles south near to Belize, rent a hammock on the beach with a palapa (cover) for 5 US a night. Rent a "secretary" for 20 US a day who will catch fresh fish and cook it and bring all your drinks and laze around for 2 weeks in heaven. If not look at Playacar but all inclusive so you won't get a flavour of mexico.

Me and our lass went all inclusive in May and stayed in the RIU Palace.

The place is brilliant, you'll love it. Make sure you go on plenty of trips. It's about an hour outside of main Cancun. Make sure you go to Coco-Bongo's.

    Cheers for the feedback.

Her sister is stopping in the Riu tequila. We have been looking at the bluebay esmerelda or something?

I've heard coco bongos is a must, how much does it cost roughly to get up there?
