Relegation days out, can you remember ...
That bloke chawing the coppers motorbike down at Selhurst Park - what a laugh, it was like Steve McQueen in the Great Escape when the bizzies collared him !

I've never seen an atmosphere change as quick!
I was so grateful to the lad, he made the journey home much easier.

Heard a story that he managed to escape and get back to Sunderland with the cuff's still on. He went to the local Fire Station and told them that they'd been put on at a Stag night could they cut them off for him........
They dobbed him in !

It wasn't the day we got relegated but the last away game of the season. Aston Villa in the 19 point season, Alex Rae (playing for Wolves at the time I think) was sitting in our end, some great chanting for him before and during the game.

Man City was another.... That pub opposite the Platt Lane end before the game. Everbody in fancy dress, I remember there was a pedestrian crossing and someone just kept pressing the button and stopping the traffic. These two stunners had to pull up in some open top motor - Dennis the Menace and Gnasher jumped in the back.... they were shitting themselves !
