New Striker Quandry

Is there any reason why we couldn't buy a young striker (Wickham for eg) and loan him back to Ipswich for the rest of the season, but with an instant call-back clause in the deal incase of injuries.
This would cover any injuries to Gyan, Ipswich would still keep the player (hopefully) to help them stay up, and we haven't wasted £3m+ on an aging striker with no sell-on value.
