    Default Infra red

Just following on from this locked thread.

I have some infra red film for my medium format film camera, and was thinking of giving it a go for the June theme.

Has anyone tried this? Anyone know if I'll need a special filter? Seems to be conflicting things on line about it.

    Thanks.

Looked around a bit more and it seems that I need to buy a filter.

I need something called a Heliopan Bay I RG715nm filter, and I can't even find a price for it. That means that even if I can find one, it'll be about a million pounds.

    Arseholes.

Is it not just an R72 filter for about £30?

Oooh, not sure, assumed they were for digital. I'll have to look into it a bit more...

Good luck with that..... I searched for info and found all sorts of contradicting advice. Fairly certain I ended up with an R72 or something similar, looks like a Marmite filter. I think I've used the same with both film and digital

From what I can gather I do need an R72 filter, but they don't make em for my camera. There's a cheap plastic equivalent that you can cut to fit, but I can't find one for sale anyway.
