I'd like to see us bring in at least one centre-half, but preferably two and also another left back. Making up with Chimbonda needs to be done too, although I doubt this will happen so in a perfect world we need another right back if he goes too, although the centre halfs are the main prioirty.

David Wheater might be a good shout?

Is he out of the picture at Manchester City?

Seems to have moved around alot in the last season or so, would prefer Wheater tbh.

Would give us some strength and robustness to go alongside Ferdys class, and I think we could tempt him from Boro as it seems they're in a bit of trouble financially but don't want to have to resort to selling Tuncay or Downing.

I agree with most of that. How the hell anyone expects us to improve when we still have two of the 15 point season defenders in place after all this time (three if you count Ringo?) is beyond me.

I wan't impressed with Wheater when I've seen him up against Kenwyne Jones mind you.

Ferdinand and Chimbonda were out ill and McCartney is injured yesterday so that was hopefull a one off however I agree a top quality CB and descent cover for LB would improve the defence.

Just some poster was saying the other day that a £3M deal is on the cards for him. If true and he could capture the form at Bolton might be ok alongside Ferdy....

Problem with Ben Haim is that he is only 5ft 10". What we really need is someone in the mould of Samba from Blackburn to help what must be the smallest defence in the premiership.
