There's currently a free trial for this that started the other day where you can play up to level 15, so I've just signed up and downloading it now. I'm hoping I'm not too addicted by the time I get to level 15 so that I don't have to buy it!

It's going down the pan mate, it really is. I've been on and off it but there's been alot of people cancelling subscriptions.

They've been far too late with introducing stuff like group finders... and it's still a shit system they've produced anyway.

It'll be free to play within a year because it's going downhill fast, they've already said they're looking at their options.

It had massive potential but I packed it in after a month, which was when the lightsaber buzz wore off.

I was gutted when this was announced.

I was hoping for a new installment of the original series that was on the PC/Xboc but instead it was MMORPG which was destined to fail, like most of them, under the weight of WOW.

I am glad it's not working as a MMO, hopefully that means we will get KoTOR 3!

Meh, if we do it'll be a dumbed down console version judging by recent releases. Loved I, must get around to playing II some day.

    I played it at launch.

The lack of a group finder was ridiculous. This would've been easy to implement, but they said they wanted people to be more immersed by searching for groups. But all that meant was standing in the base station spamming 'lfg' for hours.

    Got old pretty quickly.

There was also a big problem for melee, especially tanks, since enemies were all made up of groups that would split up and fire at you from range - no problem if you are ranged yourself, a pain in the arse if you were melee, especially if you were trying to tank them,

TOR failing would mean the opposite. Expect to see Lucasarts put out more linear shooters like that 1313 game.

KotOR was a console game in the first place...

But it was a massive success to start with, so it shows the demand is there but for a new KoTOR and not an MMO.

    Going F2P...

"BioWare has announced that a new Free-to-Play option will be added to its story-driven, massively multiplayer online game Star Wars: The Old Republic this fall. This option will give players access to each of the eight Star Wars character class storylines, all the way up to level 50, with certain restriction on access to new content and advanced player features. Some restrictions can be "unlocked" with Cartel Coins.
Unlimited game access, including new higher-level game content and new features, will be made available through individual purchases or through a subscription option."
