Just put the right fingers on the right frets on the right strings at the right time and it plays itself.

I've been interested in starting for a while, going to give it a go.

How long would it take to learn some Bruce Springsteen songs?

For the riff of Born to Run, I'd say 3 or 4 years.

    I'll avoid that then.

    I'll try the easier ones.

    have another from me like

born to run should take a couple of months for the riff like, its not exactly difficult.

Once you grasp bar chords, Working on the highway is just a C-F-G chord song, you could get that right in no time at all

I'll try that, cheers. Once I learn the basic chords of course.

What order should I go in, basic chords...then what?

You'd be playing it in a few weeks.

Basic chords then whatever you'll find most useful.

Barre chords, finger picking and simple riffs are 3 logical next steps, depending what you want.

Noel Gallagher's famous for never playing barre chords so there might be some Oasis.
