The average person in the south wouldnt entertain the idea of travelling 20 miles each way every day for graft (out of their own pocket obviously). And for those of us who move further afield in search of opportunities, I personally resent being so far from my family as they get older and have to deal with the legacy of a working life in the mines (my dad made it past 50 at least!). Its one of the prices we pay for being who we are I suppose.

Dear God in heaven man Bongo. You so carefully edited out the link so as to try to not make it obvious it was from Wikipedia, and then the link turns out to be to no other an unbiased source than Ian McGregor's autobiography, the pages of which I believe are stuck together in your personal copy.
Funny though, you've brightened up an otherwise relatively dull day.

???
I don't recall him being sued for telling lies in his autobiography, strange that given Scargill and the NUM's love of taking people to court.

If you can't (or won't) see the difference between bias and lies, then it really isn't worth taking this little dance into the tango round.

Hmm, how come none of the unions named denied it? How come he wasn't sued?
I know, because it's the truth and you're finding it a little hard to swallow.
Keep dancing, someone might pay you some attention , you've had enough of mine.
Bias, lies, what a fucking cock end.

Strange way of spelling truth.
Deal with it and stop making shit excuses for something that happened nearly 30 years ago.

But don't you realise the events of thirty years ago are to blame for every single thing that has gone wrong since?
Everything is Thatchers fault

No excuses pal, - what happened happened at the end of the day. Nevertheless, that's what did occur, she engineered it from day 1 & Scargill was stupid enough to not see it coming so if anything, he was to blame for the defeat of the NUM. MaKes no odds to me now, - other than when stupid idiots like you try to paint it a different way to what actually happened.

I would never have given her so much credit for the intelligence to trick Scargill into an illegal strike. She must have had a hell of a set of advisors
