had we been playing Man City and they blew the title in the last seconds then we'd have taken the piss out of them. Same as if say Spurs blew CL qualification at OT, then their fans would have taken the piss. Too bloody precious these footballers

Playing devils advocate here, but imagine how we would feel if we were in the Championship (as we were in the not too distant past) and we were level on points with the second placed team but behind on goal difference on the last day.

We are away to someone like Burnley or Bristol City, we win but the second placed team also win, scoring the winner with the last kick of the game (like Man City did) to secure automatic promotion.

The Burnley/Bristol City fans stay and celebrate, taunting us. Can you imagine the meltdown on here if that happened? Everybody would be slagging off the oppositions fans, calling them smalltime, a nothing club etc and there would be a permanent grudge against that club.

Now I can see where Rooney is coming from. He's still a big fat headed selfish granny shagging twat though and no doubt he'll make his comeback in the final group game at Euro 12 only to get sent off.

FAO Wayne Rooney: It's called banter!

If it had of been Man City or Chelsea we would have done the same. No one likes to see any team win the title on their turf. An English mans' home is his caslte and all that.

    What is sad imho is:

Paying to have sex with grannies.
Cheating with hookers on your pregnant wife.
Abusing your own fans, who paid thousand of pounds to travel half way across the world, for booing your lacklustre performance against Algeria.
Hold your beloved Man Utd to ransom to get more money. And them tell them how much you love the club.
    Getting hair transplants.

Think its fair enough, a bit of a nothing story. Player gets annoyed at opposition fans taking the piss, not really his place to make a balanced argument.

    Yes.

I could say 'grow up' but it would be rude.

It's funny how both Rooney, and SAF in previous comments, have forgotten that if we hadn't taken four points off City this season they wouldn't have even been close coming into the last game.

Rooney's correct in as much the biggest cheer of the day was because of someone else's effort, and not from supporting our team.
