Yer not wrong, I was gonna say it was something that got in the way of having a few pints with mates, but realised that our skipper moderates these boards and I take my role as senior bowler very seriously. Oh, Craig, you're opening on Sunday, the bowling that is.

    Murton 49 for 1.

Easington and Seaham Park played out a draw. Seaham 179 for 8 with Mansoor top scored with 44. Easington hung on at 89 for 9. Only Wickling and Wilson getting onto double figure with 26 each. Mansoor was also the pick of the bowlers with3 for 28.

Been away for the weekend so just updating this now.

The form team after only two games has to be Murton with two wins from two. Seaham Park also picked up a good win at Hylton, Washington and Seaham Habour both playing out a draw, Harbour only getting 60 from 41 overs!

Any body want to add some details?

We went to Murton with a lot of players missing and put up a decent showing all things considered. We limped to 103 on a soaking wet pitch and in the end only lost by one wicket with Murton finishing 104-9.

Mind you, we werent playing "Murton" as much as a group of wanderers who all seem to have pitched up at Murton this year - not many local lads in their team with no fewer than nine players on the field for them who didnt play for Murton last season. You'd have hoped that they'd have learnt a lesson from what that approach has done to them in the recent past, but apparently not.

Just out of curiosity, how many did Washington amass before declaring?

Not as bad as the second team game.

    Washington 129 all out.

Seaham Harbour 90-6 off about 50.

Blocked as soon as the first wicket went down.

some things never change.......I thought they were putting some effort into building up junior teams?

To be fair to Murton, they are trying to develop juniors. They started with under 11s a couple of years agao and they had 13s last year. However it will be another four or five years before they have juniors who will be old enough for first team level. So I dont think it is a slight on their juniors, just an age thing.
