Gene Vincent was brilliant!! I love Gene Vincent. What a voice. And he was as mad as a sock, a complete loony!! Pulled a gun on Paul McCartney when The Beatles backed him in Germany in the early 60s.

    Bit harsh that, I suppose.

Did any of you guys frequent the AEF Club in Norfolk Street on a Tuesday or was it Thursday Neet for the Rock and Roll/Rockabilly Neet

Which then moved to the Boilermakers Club.

Remember gannin to the Boilermakers to see Matchbox whom i had never heard of and they sang a Song Called "Rockabilly Rebel" which went to No1 and got them on TOTP within a week of them being on the Boilermakers Rock n Roll night

Gene had come back from the future, must have heard the Frog Chorus! (for the record Eddie was streets ahead of Gene, imo of course)

Eddie was more the complete package by a long way.But those early 56 recordings with Vincent & Gallup etc, maybe just shade it for me.I liked the "tribute" song that The Stray Cats did for the both of them......
