I remember he used to do our games back in the day.
Whats the crack is he a fan or was it just a job?
Get the feeling Simon Crabtree is converted.

This. Why do fuckers use phrases like "back in the day" just because other daft fuckers do?

Think so, aye.
I remember one away game where he hadn't turned up for the commentary and they played a telephone message he had left saying he'd been arrested and asked for Gatesy and Guy to come and pick him up. I'm not sure if that was genuine or not but IIRC, he never commented again after that.
The 3 of them were really superb as the G Force, very good to listen to.

He's not the biggest bloke Gatesy but he certainly speaks his mind.

Re: Guy Mowbray
He certainly sounded like a SAFC fan when Johnston bagged that last minute equaliser against Birmingham in the play off season. I seem to recall it being along the lines of "JOHNSTON! YYEEEEAAAAAAASSSSSSSS! JOHNSTON!"

He certainly got right into it, I remember him being delighted after the first 2-1 at SJP.
IIIRC, that was one of his final commentary games and I remember he came down on the pitch the next home game and was presented to the crowd as his commentary was played over the tannoy.
I'm 99% certain that was Mowbray (unless memory is playing tricks and it was Crabtree years later).

It was. His last game was Coventry City at home, live on Sky. I think Oster made his debut. Robbie Keane scored and we equalised in the 2nd half through SKP, finished 1-1.

Thought so, I remember that Coventry game being a right anticlimax, there was a great atmosphere before hand but we struggled during the game.
SKP's equaliser was canny though, sort of overhead kick, volley IIRC.
