    Default Laptop Hardware help!

I'm guessing my hard drive has completely died as BIOS still loads but it goes no further with a clicking noise around where the hard drive is,

    Is this an expensive repair?
And my windows 7 was installed onto there by the upgrade but i have no copy of the license key etc etc

What should i do, apart from format the fucker, as i wish i could.

Won't matter if you format it, the drive is physically fucked.

Buy a new one off ebay.

Sounds like your HDD is fucked, hope you backed your contents up, licence key should be on the underside of laptop

If there are important things on the drive then there are ways to recover them but you'll pay in excess of £700 for the privilege.

    Oh well.

But aye - Falcon computers on roker avenue should be able to fit you up with a drive with an operating system on it. I'd take that route.

Do not use any online bollox like that, it is usually a scam. Just google it and you find plenty on this type of scam. If you aren't really bothered whats on it just destroy it completely. I downloaded data recovery off the torrent sites and it recivered it completely free

You will need 2.5" drive. You will need to check if it is SATA though, search your laptop model on google or just take it out and look on the drive, failing that just take the drive to a shop
