All these 'worst I have ever felt' threads

Complete rubbish in my view. This is coming from someone who lives on Tyneside and does not just have to take the flack from a few work mates.

Being a fan of anyone other than a top four side is an exercise in endurance at times. In the recent past we have seen Sunderland totally humiliated by twice breaking the all time lowest points record in the premier league. The older ones among us have seen us relegated to the Third Division and believe me, that was far worse than anything I experienced yesterday.

Yesterday was a terrible result against the side we would least like it to happen against, but that is all it was. One bad result. We are still sitting mid table in the league having played a lot of tough games and still have everything to play for this season.

We have a young side who will hopefully be a lot stronger in the future for going through the hell that was yesterday and if they are not then we will have learned something about them. Things have been a hell of a lot worse than this.

I will also add that I was quite disappointed by the number of our fans who did not stay to the end. I fully understand the hurt and the angst which made many leave, but how can we have a pop at the players for not showing passion and commitment when we do a runner ourselves because we are losing? I reckon there were no more than 500 of us left at the end and not surprisingly a lot of familiar faces. Yesterday was a great opportunity to show the footballing world just how good our fans can be in the face of adversity and we failed miserably.

A lot of sound argument and good points there. Gillingham at home had far more long-term impact.

I honestly didn't want to get out of bed this morning. I should have felt worse when we dropped into the third, but I just didn't.

same story here.

Alot of other bad experiences have been spread over a long period of time. The 19 point SEASON, the 15 point SEASON. Yesterday started with so much expectation then 90 MINUTES later it felt as if the world had caved in.

There's a lot on here still go on about the play off at sjp, they'll be going on about this game for decades.

What pisses me off is not the result itself, its the manner of it.

All of the Wembley defeats made me feel worse. Norwich, Swindon, Charlton. Liverpool was to be expected.

However, I'm lucky enough to live in the south with no Mags to take the piss.

This was a very poor result and the team need to bounce back quickly or the fans will turn on Bruce and some of the players will be made scapegoats.

It may feel like a disaster at the moment but only time will tell whether it becomes one.

I do think that the Stoke game offers a real shot at partial redemtion. But yesterday was so awful that it threatens to drag the whole season down.

And my point is that I think that every bloody season! Remember that 0-0 last year? That's why it would be a tonic to win.

The only day that is in the same league of dissapointment as yesterday for me was the day we got relegated to the third division.
