Just seen it, was pleasantly surprised. Much better than the original in my opinion (even though there is no actual 'Karate' in it like ). A definite guilty pleasure.

    How dare you.
I'm sick of all these movies being remade like.

    I preferred it when
it was about a wise old
    Japanese fellow.

    From IMDB

" Incorrectly regarded as goofs: The title "The Karate Kid" is a direct reference to the bullies calling him the "Karate Kid" when he takes up a stance at the beginning of the fight."

Someone mentioned it was when Kung Fu Panda came out they trademarked a lof of titles but not sure if thats true.

Either way its a throwaway film that keeps the young uns happy. Enough there for adults who have seen original to recognise the dialouge even though its in chinese and pretty much the same camera angles

I'll give it a miss, you'll never beat the original.

Was at the flicks last night and thinking about how cinema will adapt in the future - theres only so many different stories and tales that can be told, so it stands to reason that film makers will have to start plundering the past.

So as time goes on, there will be more and more remakes until an original film is a rarity and we are watching remakes of remakes.

Good point, but I am looking forward to the Tron 'sequel'.
