    i know they stopped the newcastle to bergen one, surely they could get a market for ferries to scandinavia from sunderland ? could help boost the city ? just a thought

    There's been a couple of times when Port of Tyne at North Shields couldn't handle liners for some reason and they docked opposite the Glass Centre.

    Aye.

    Don't think it's handling the ferries docking that would be the problem but handling the amount of vehicles coming in to the port so would need massive infrastructure changes.
