    Default New England Defence

With the defence have been ripped apart today and looking clueless and soooo slooooow, who should we play to get ready for the Euros? Joe Hart in goal seems the obvious one, Ashley Cole is the only world class defender we have that should keep his place, but who is coming through to replace the others? Cahill is the only central defender coming through I can think of, who else is there? Oh, and Glen Johnson isn't a defender as far as I'm concerned!

Dawson could be given a run.

    Not sure about RB though.

What about that young Fulham lad that Manure signed? People seem to like him.

Why don't we try playing like Germany do with two defensive midfielders and three attacking ones? Milner & Cattermole with a combination of Adam Johnson/Gerrard/Rooney/Young in front of them with Crouch heading the attack?

Well that's the point, we are trying to see who our future players may be. Hopefully Fergie can turn Smalling into a quality centre back and if Cahill gets a big move then may develop. All ifs and buts of course...

I'd rather see that formation than 4-4-2.

Not sure if Gerrard has another WC in him though.

I'm astonished Capello stuck with 4-4-2. When he took the job he said that judging by the last WC 4-5-1 seemed the way that international football was going.

Exactly we are going to see the old guard for a couple of more years in the Premier League but our national team's future is waiting in the wings and we may as well look out for them.
