I think it's not so much a problem of believing Governments but believing the press. The Government were far too quick to jump on the bandwagon and ignore sensible advice from experts.
Hopefully the new Government don't make the same mistake and are prepared to make 'media unfriendly' decisions based on sound medical advice.
