Its the third mile where i always drop time!
I either go off too fast & fade off at the end or stert too slow & leave myself too much to do. I can't seem to find a middle ground.

seem to be loads doing that now, twice a day.. Ive never tried it as be in divorce courts within 6 monthtwo runs today for me. ooooh, and still in one piece. all going very well right now.
no club for me. twice a day was to and from work so not too hard to fit in without upsetting the wife. it works well for me and takes no extra time, but need to be careful not to just run more miles but get nothing out of them.seem to be loads doing that now, twice a day.. which club you in mate ?
I do that twice a week, it's about as much as I can manage. I usually split mine as 8mile/4 mile or 9mile/3mile. I find it hard to do two even runs. I know some do 6/6 or 7/7. The coach at our club used to do 8 and 8 in his peaktwo runs today for me. ooooh, and still in one piece. all going very well right now.
yesterday was 8 and 6 for me, at around 6:30 pace. do it once every couple of weeks. I find it amazing how good I feel after a rest day following 2 sessions in a day.

Good stuff, I tend to do first one at a set pace but second one just how I feel (sometimes quite slow). Not sure about feeling great but it certainly makes me hungry. . This is a brilliant event. I did it last year in a relay team. Won't be there for this year though, due to work.if anyone fancies dipping their toe in the muddy waters of ultra running / cake eating here's one right on the doorstep (assuming you live around Sunderland that is) http://my3.raceresult.com/60212/info?lang=en

Do you do many Ultra's?
Aye I'm doing it for the first time. I've done 2 11 milers as part of my training in 10 minute miles so hoping for about 2.15 on the day. Glad it's cooling down.Anybody doing GNR on Sunday ? It's thankfully cooled down and conditions look decent for the race. . . be nice to have a 50mph westerly though

Ha ha, reckon half the people doing it are under an assumed identityDoin it for first time since 2004 I think, under a pseudonym like ha. Bit bigger than last time I done it.
