Just been posting in the preseason forum about him winning a ball in France and bringing it home via Belgium and Portugal.
Got to thinking about the Saville trip.
There were 3 games in Belgium (Reidie getting beer hoyed ower him and Kildale slapping the Vs were the tour part 1 headlines) followed by 2 games in Spain but with a 5 or 6 days gap.
I was òff work so went straight from Belgium to Malaga. Davey is catching me up after a fews days back home.
Anyway we are sitting in a bar in Ghent and he asks how is he going to get in touch with me when he gets to Spain.
I say just ring my mobile from a payphone from the airport.
He looks back puzzled and says
But I won't have any change when I land in Spain.
Me - Just make sure you bring some Euro coins with you from the Belgium trip.
Davey - they'll be no good they'll be Belgium Euros not Spanish Euros.
