Some unbelievable times here. Well done all. I fell agonisingly short of sub 90 with a time of 1h30 and 8 seconds. Gutted but absolutely destroyed my pb by 8 minutes and 10 seconds. Now on the hunt for a good quick HM to put that right!

Well done. what do you put that BIG improvement down to?

What was the start / finish like this time ?
I gather that the Stadium wasn't used. Thought that was a great selling point, using the concourse for changing and especially the plentiful amount of pots...

No the stadium wasn't used.

There were tents for leaving bags and belongings on the Vaux site, but I didn't use them so no idea what that was like. There were plenty of portaloos around Keel Square. I only waited a couple of minutes in a queue before the start and there were plenty of empty ones afterwards. Much prefer the proper toilets in the SOL though. I liked getting the medals in the stadium as that made it seem more special. This time it was in tents on the Vaux site, but with the rain, the ground was really wet and muddy underfoot.

I had the 10km down as 6.3 miles, probs a minute longer than it should be. I clocked, 39:17, slightly disappointed, will have to do another soonish to get into 38s. Enjoyed the 10km route to be fair. Wouldn't have fancied the HM in the conditions, a lot of people whinging about the course being too hilly etc but were still a lot of good times.
Also Fletch was that you on the Roker road beside garage?? Sorry, my vision is nee good when blowing out me arse !!

I think the roads just felt never ending to be honest, so it was a long stretch of uphill an downhill running. I hate running downhill so get no advantage, every bugger passes me downhill which depresses the hell out of me. I found it more challenging than the GNR to be fair, but I also ran a time I thought I was incapable of on Sunday.

think the HM route looked more twisty rather than hilly, I'm sure you went round keel square 3 times ??

and no mate, that wasn't me - I just stayed round the start/finish area , once it started I went off for a cuppa and bacon sarnie, I did seen you before but couldn't catch your attention. Good run by yourself, remember you are doing far less mileage and training sessions than other harriers who are getting similar times to you

The what? Linky?

 Can't say I did, no.

Would have probably done it but when I've checked my calendar I'm already doing the Pieces of 8 10K at Pensher that day.

Too right, I managed to keep my feet clean all the way round and then have to collect my medal/t shirt in all the clarts. It was much better receiving them in front of the dug outs at The Sol.

Cross training. I supplement my running with swimming, cycling, yoga and weight training. plus I've found new levels of will power/motivation. Also a good mixture of training sessions including hills and tempo runs. I don't do huge mileage each week but focus on quality over quantity. I've also improved my diet (still like a few pints/takeaway at weekends like)

hopefully sorted out all my problems as it seems my back has been the thing that has been causing all my pain aswell as over striding, managed a few runs lately were I don't feel like im suffering afterwards, lots of stretches and a change in style aswell as trying to strengthen certain muscles seems to be paying off , just a few miles today 1 warm up, 3 at tempo 6.30 then 2 mile taking it easy but also 4x200 thrown in to try and work of my cadence
