Need a couple of batsman if we want to mount a title challenge. Can't just rely on our excellent bowlers.

Surely there has to be some domestic batsman out there we could nab.

We definitely need a top quality batsman for the white ball stuff. Would love to try and sign Klinger.

The club should be doing everything they can to bring in Dean Elgar IMO.

Perhaps Durham decided he wasn't the best option. I'd sooner we signed a batsman for the whole season than a bowler for 6 weeks.

Certainly from the way Jon Lewis was talking he was considering not getting an overseas bowler and relying on home growns. But if we get no one at all ......

add to this the rumour that the 2017 CC season will be restructured.... which may mean fewer teams in Div 1 ... which may mean more relegation places this season.

(Elizabeth Ammon tweeted a few days ago that the counties have agreed with the ECB that there will be a CC reorganisation with details confirmed next month.)

Was talking to him over Christmas mate, was saying it's the 4th time he's had the stress fracture now so they aren't going to risk him in 4 day stuff this season. He was saying he's only got a year contract so needs to make sure he's fit, basically if his back goes again he's fucked
 
If they are broke why not go for Marcus North on the cheap?? Just wants to live in the North East and would do a job for a season

If they were interested in him,they'd have made the approach at the end of last season when they were actively searching for an experienced batsmen. North wouldn't count as overseas-he'll have a British passport through his wife.

Is he still up to div 1? Not sure the merits of having him and Muchall on the books.

Didn't properly speak to him like, him and Josh popped in for mags game for a laugh :lol:

Be a shame for him like. He's done enough to warrant a new deal but if he gets injured again it would be a huge blow for him and Durham.
