OverWatch (FPS game made by Blizzard)

Got a Beta invite for this yesterday.

Fans of the Team Fortress series will love this game.

Simple explanation of the game - 21 different heroes to pick from, 6 offense, 6 defence, 4 support and 5 "tanks" escort a payload to the other end of the map in a 6v6 scenario.
All each with abilties ranging from going invisible and stabbing people in the back to a robot able to turn into a Minigun.

Not your typical Call of Duty / Counter Strike / Battlefield game as said before Blizzard's spin on the Team Fortress series where you spawn and blow each other to bits.

Coming out on all formats in the Spring too! :D
 


I play a lot of tf2 so I've been keeping an eye on this.

Does anyone have a beta invite, or can point me towards a sign up?

yeah i played 5 last night and lost 4, it was very balanced by the middle of the previous beta but then something changed and it went to shit.

Probably Tracer but I never get to play her because of the lack of tanks and healers, Lucio is my favourite healer and most played by some way. I like Reinhardt, Winston and Zarya as tanks depending on the situation.
 
Am I the only one who thinks the character models are horribly uninspiring? The peg legged character, man! :lol:

But all the other have super high-tech suits and stuff yet he hobbles around on peg?!?! Surely that must affect his mobility? ;)

he's certainly one of the easier characters to distinguish by sound, if you hear a hobble coming towards you, you know you're about to come up against a junkrat
 
I'm ignorant as fuck when it comes to blizzard games unless it's Warcraft, WoW and hearthstone. I havent gave a second thought to checking out Diablo, hots or Starcraft
 
What format will people be buying this on? I'll be getting it on PC.

I never get them either, it's borderline impossible as Lucio or Zarya. I was just reading about how they plan on changing the potg to make it reflect actual good play rather than just torbjorn's turret killing everyone in sight while torbjorn is dead.

Always see alot of Reinhardt aswell - Charge in, press Q, kill everyone who's flattened on the ground.
 
I couldn't bring myself to spend the time on it. Same as wow who offered 7 free days.

I was suckered into buying the last moba by blizz, pretty sure that went f2p within a couple of months, will this not just do the same?

probably not, at least not anytime soon. The model is buy the original and then all additional maps and characters are free, if they go free to play they'll have to start charging for something else. I expect they'll monetize it with a store of some kind but selling characters isn't an option in this game and i doubt they'll make enough money from selling loot boxes alone. Perhaps if they introduce trading between players and take a cut of the sales but there's nothing in game to do that yet.
