The Witcher 3

On new game +? Jesus christ. I had about 40 tries at the final boss. But it took every bomb, oil and buff I had. Eventually did it but it was harder than Dark Souls at that point
nah, got to Skellige on my first playthrough before my old account got hacked, tbh i thought Deathmarch was a disappointment as far as difficulty goes

I'm off sick today so going to spend the day on the settee with this.

I'm level 11 but still fannying about with the Baron and Crones quests (6) but I'm just enjoying it so much I want to do loads of side quests. I haven't even been to a major town like Oxenfurt or owt yet.

everyone banged on about Jenny o the woods being a solid boss fight, i can't remember even having a problem with her, the game is essentially just Quen, Axii wail on then Quen, Axii again, makes the entire game no challenge
I couldn't kill her till I was wuite a few levels higher than recommended amd I was playing on the default difficulty. I am shite at all games like.I loved this game. Reading through this thread again makes me realise how mediocre I am finding Fallout 4 in comparison.

I done the same. Only dipped in to the story when I had no sidequests where I was near the recommended level to do.

I Felt the same tbh, i just wanted FO4 done with by then end, the new game buzz wore off and it was just the same Bethesda storyline, pick a side and eliminate the opposite side.

I mean don't get me wrong i f***ing loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas, as well as Skyrim (which im currently playing again) but FO4 just lacks the charm and sense of adventure of the previous games, I must have completed Skyrim about 15 times and i'm still finding new things and discovering new areas.

I Think playing The Witcher 3 before Fallout 4 kind of nails how hollow the Fallout games are really, they are good for what they are but there's no depth to them, and you just get from one place to another killing something and do the same again.
I never got that sense of accomplishment or satisfaction playing through Fallout 4 as i did with the Witcher or i still do with Skyrim, looking back i can't remember that excitement about Fallout 3 but it has something about it that Fallout 4 lacks but i just can't put my finger on it.

Basically i found Fallout 4 hollow and repetitive whereas there is that much to do in The Witcher that you are always finding something that you missed the first time.
That makes an engaging game to me, sadly i just found as decent as FO4 was i just wasn't interested by the end.

Picked it up from game 2nd hand for £20. Enjoying it.

Im lvl 7 at the minute, what type of level will I be when I need to start looking at crafting?

Also Im confused by the potions and food, on the xbone, is it up curser for potion and down for food?
Meaning I can only select a potion or oil?
Also what are health potions called?

you craft a potion using alchemy ingredients called swallow and later enhanced swallow, can't remember what you need but i got it when i was still in White Orchard.
that is refilled everytime you rest from the menu, so long as you have something called Alcohest which is easy enough to buy.

As far as i remember you can set anything to up and down buttons but its been a while since i played it.

I've just got some Griffin armour diagrams so am looking for a fella to craft them for me.

i think you have to go to Skellige for someone iirc.

I also remember doing a quest for someone in the big city i cant remember the name of to unlock master weapon smithing
That's the 'Kill Bill' reference iirc. When you meet him he's running a dumpling shop as he's been forced out of the smithing trade. Hattori or something - like the Hattori Hansa in Kill Bill that Uma Thurman goes to and asks him to make her a sword.

never got the reference but its been ages since i watched Kill Bill so it went over my head, was a good quest line mind

He does weapons and the lass who works with the dwarf does the armour iirc or a meringue?
