There are many professions that work equally as hard for a fraction of the pay.
There is a limited pot of money out there and everyone needs to accept that.
I would love doctors ,policeman ,firemen etc to get everything they wished for but how long would it be before we ended up like Greece.
Why is there suddenly a limited pot of money? Have you asked yourself where it all went?

Dread to think where the NHS is going to be in 5/10 years time.
It's time we had a grown up discussion about the NHS.
We are struggling to pay for it now without the inevitable increase in life expectency, dementia, diabities etc etc.

Privatised if the tories win another GE, which is probably likely given the weak opposition they face.

Hunts just proved that's not possible. The egotistical arsehole.

If it doesn't match his agenda, he doesn't want to know.

Does anyone on here actually believe that the NHS is sustainable.
No one , even the nasty Conservatives ,have the guts to admit that with the ever increasing life expectency the NHS will eventually become unaffordable.

Well according to the King's Fund the decade between 2010 and 2020 the NHS will see/has seen the largest sustained decrease in funding as a percentage of GDP since 1951, so unless that is reversed then no. But that's a political choice.

Of course, your argument also ignores that the NHS through well funded preventative medicine is part of the solution to some of the issues you outlined above such as rising obesity and diabetes rates.

Pound for pound it's one of the most efficient healthcare systems in the industrialised world BTW.

So how can we not afford to pay people who help us yet spunk money up bombing Syria? Or building railways that cost billions to knock 20 minutes off sheep flocking to the capital?

Nuclear bombs anarl???? They'll do us no good if they will only be deployed if a fleet of them are heading our way?what good will that do us up here when we're pissing blood and more important parts of the country are bumpy car parks???

Harold f***ing shipman has killed more brits than terrorists so what the fuck is bombing Syria about??? That costs millions a week and I don't see us bombing Fulwell medical center...

Bankers (bless them) move numbers about that are backed by fuck all in the grand scheme of things. Ask your bank for a block of gold instead of cash when you flog your house. After all you put in years of graft for your loan. You want to see something real for that surely.

. Of course it's sustainable , we spend on what we choose. I'm doing ok put my tax up, increase upper tax bracket , scrap trident , tax google, ? Nhs levy on all multinationals it looks after and maintains the workers who produce their wealth , mansion tax , Increased inheritance and capital gains tax. Close off shore loop holes , tax flash motors over £40 k . Hit the rich unmercifully until we have enough .

I'm looking forward to the usual two or three posters who are against this strike posting their utter tripe and non-factual arguments.
Who are your other two mates like ?

Doctors are the most important NHS workers. That isn't to say others aren't, but they're the medical expertise. That's why they're paid so much, that's why they're so important.

I have never claimed to be the expert on this. I'm not, but there were a number of posters the last time this came up who were arguing for the side of the government with false information - whether they knew that or not I don't know.
Doctors are the most easily replaced by machines to be fair. Every doctor I have been to over the last 2 years has used to Google.

I read your posts with interest as you obviously have insight into the working of the NHS that said, to say yesterdays action had no effect is naive at best. Elective operating cancelled, training lists not carried out, outpatient clinics cancelled/delayed - apart from that it was a relatively quiet day in our black escalation NHS!!!!

I did say that patients on the wards noticed no difference. Perhaps you should reread the post?

The truth is out, that's why they're striking.

The post you're quoting is a link to Sky. Not that you ever bother reading facts provided for you, otherwise you wouldn't persist with your ignorant comments.

It was quoting a post with red letters stating the independent. Doh

I'd like to know where it all is outside of a computer?

Seriously if everyone in positive equity on the planet wanted to cash in everything on the same day what would they get off the banks?? Blocks of gold, diamonds or pieces of f***ing paper??!

The who did an investigation into the outputs vs government cost of all the health services worldwide and the NHS came out as the most efficient and still is completely free for users. I think they're doing OK.

It's impossible

We are a nation of selfish idiots

Doctors are the most easily replaced by machines to be fair. Every doctor I have been to over the last 2 years has used to Google.

I would expect that if you have an aggressive form of a particular disease and have been seeing specialists that they have consulted a search engine to find systematic review evidence relating to an effect treatment for your condition
