Ha ha, looking out that window today and not feeling like it lol.....Just been and bought Sealkinz gloves and hat though so need to test them now (anything to get motivated )

Sealskinz are the dogs dangly bits marra! Thing is once you're wet and blown about a bit you'll get into it, it's just them first few steps

Totally true, the thought of running in a monsoon is infinitely worse than actually being in it, in reality love it upto my eyeballs in clarts......

Sale in Halfords too btw, merino wool Sealskinz gloves down to £20 and hat £15......Bargain central

Anyone do the night run at lambton? really enjoyed it, tough conditions, dead boggy. was class

did Rombalds stride at the weekend. Worse underfoot conditions ive ever ran in. 24 mile race, 21 miles of thick, deep, mud. Add to that driving rain / sleet and zero visibility for half of it and it made for an interesting day :)

Finally running again! Slow park run on Saturday and Penshaw Head torch session (the best club night imo) tonight, 6.37 miles and pace was slow but just overjoyed to be back out there :)

Anybody else go through phases of losing their running mojo and finding it a chore rather than a pleasure ?
Dunno if it's cos of niggles or just too tired after work but struggling to get motivated at moment , went out tonight on own , half hearted effort

Same with cycling for me.

Which is one of the reasons I try to cycle to work if possible as you then have the dual purpose aspect to motivate you if needed.

I do as well mate, it can be a right chore at times. Getting out the door is the hardest thing normally, particularly in crap weather. I think I'm chemically addicted to running though so I normally manage to pull myself out and feel much better for doing so, even if it's just a crap slow 5 miles.

Na, I train with a couple of lads often, good to meet up for a chat/banter and if you agree to meet up, you have to go.

Got back out with Harriers last night after 5 weeks of no running at all. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I hadn't got slower than I had been before, still only around 12.30 min/mile but thought I'd have to drag myself around.

Yep, im having an absolute mare with it.
Did 4 mile in Jan and a half hour on treadmill at the weekend.
I always planned to have a slack January, but its really become a struggle to get back out.
Hoping now its still light when i get back from work that i can start doing some miles before the missus gets home.

Plenty time to train at least
Got my GNR confirmation today too. Anybody else in ?
Nah, done it a couple of times and still think its overpriced, too busy and alot of hassle at the start and finish.
Think i might have a go at the Kielder half this year. It has previously fallen on a match day, but we will have more games in the chanpionship, so i'll not mind missing one of them.

Got a place in the GNR. Gives me something to help motivate me to go out on a night now. Started the 7miles7weeks program last month but haven't been out for 2 weeks. Think I'll give it another go from Monday as a starting point.
