Anyone damaged this before, they think I have an acute tear been told to take two weeks off any weights, and then will look at injections in two weeks if no healing maybe an operation. Anyone been out for long with this and yous managed to work around it ?

Didnt tear it but had an issue in the shoulder from lifting that meant basically had a load of crap floating round my shoulder joint. Had left one operated on a good few years ago, was keyhole surgery and a doddle tbh...Right one needs doing now but tbh keep it at bay by lifting lighter with better form...Having said that cant actually rotate the shoulder joint properly so cant swim cause if it.

I posted something similar not long ago. Mine was a self diagnosed "fucked rotator-cuff".

Luckily two weeks later it's feeling ok and I've had a couple of sessions where I've been able to work round it. I've made a few tweaks to the way I train too. Removing any work on the smiths machine and using Dumbbells instead.

Hope it holds up ok coz I was gutted when I tweaked it

That's a bastard that like. Did you feel any sharp pain when it went, like a tear, or was it just sore?

Mine was just sore/stiff so I think I've got off lucky.

Is it best to see the GP or straight to a physio?

I've had rotator cuff symptoms since about November. Not constant pain and worse if I lie on that side at night.

Always had problems with my shoulders, trapped nerves (fingers and thumb would go numb, impingement (unable to raise arms for days), etc everyday at work I have a little resistance band routine. Have a little look about you tube for exercises.

Oh and this is more for prevention than cure.

I've never been to GP over a sports injury.

If I have a good idea of what is wrong, I will inject a suitable peptide as close to the site as possible. I strained my hamstring in Vegas and massively reduced the healing time doing so.

Thank Titus, that's another problem I have! Caused by running up the hill with Kate Bush!

First went to the doc in March 2014 with my right shoulder problem. Went through the physio, injections and the rest which made no difference

Had operation in July 2015 at the RVI was in sling for 6 weeks, pain was unbelievable after painkiller wore off, saw private physio twice a week which helped massively as I got movement back pretty quick. Go to RVI or Freeman as they have shoulder specialists unlike Shields where they are general surgeons. I went to the Freeman originally but they referred me to the RVI as the Freeman don't do keyhole.

Start lifting weights nothing heavy after 10-12 weeks. Was always guarding my shoulder as I was frightened in case I pulled it again.
Now lifting heavier weights than ever before as I had constant pain no matter what I lifted which is now not there.

Good luck

Mine has been fucked for the best part of year. Done the usual physio, and injection methods, done absolutely nowt. Told I needed an operation but refused it as the recovery time would put me out for a long time at graft. Made an effort to strengthen it the best I can, without overdoing the ROM. That has helped

MGF in the problem site

I fucked mine a few years ago bench pressing. Did physio and everything but the only thing that fixed it properly was 3 months rest from the gym. It's still nowhere near 100% like.

Injections sorted mine out, but my GP recommended that I wait for an appointment with their injection specialist. She said that getting it right is a very fine art, and I must say it was worth the 3 week wait.

Not sure I would trust anyone who I know to deliver a shot of that into the right spot. Hard to pinpoint in terms of damaged issue within the cuff itself.

With MGF it doesn't matter if it's in the exact area. It helps but for most cuff injuries I would just go delt. I had a knee ligament injury before and had to go in the VM. This stuff has worked wonders for me.
