Running Thread 2015

Been stuck in early shift so just been ticking over last few weeks with 3-4 miles here and there.

Dragged myself out for 3.5 mile tonight and was surprised how I went considering how tired I am. Managed 8.29 a mile. Hoping to get a bigger run in on Sunday morning. Never raced for a while so looking forward to gibside next Sunday. Is it a muddy one or will normal trainers suffice?
Normal trainers should do rob, it's mostly on paths.

Done 6 miles tonight with harriers, can feel improvements in speed & stamina :) I think I might be a special kind of daft because I quite like hills!!

Also very proud that one of us was the ladies winner at the Kielder marathon :) and feeling slightly daunted by the fact that I quite fancy having a crack at it next year!! (Not to place in it I hasten to add, just to finish it!!)

Watched the missus do XC today through temple park ( tried to encourage her by shouting "what's for tea "). Outstanding run by magic rat and was very impressed with the butcher , well done lads .. Loads of top top runners there, young mans game like I felt tired just watching it
Never seen you mate, seen Dan lounging about on his bike on my last lap :) enjoyed the run, racing again tomorrow though in the hellhole 10k - gonna be heavy legged!

Them Morpeth lads are something else like, even beat Dan Jenkin today

Good luck becs . . canny run. Fast down hill start. Murderous hill in the middle then steady up hill back to the finish.

Cheers! That doesn't sound too bad. I've kind of lost my running mojo due to stuff happening, so I'm hoping this kick starts it again. Best of luck xx

Not looking forward to the hellhole today. Know I haven't put any training in for it and will suffer in the 2nd half of the race. Too much getting out on my bike and not enough running, but oh well should be a laugh.

I remember marshalling on that hill and it always catches a few people out with how difficult it is to navigate. Good luck today mate.

Best of luck to you as well becs :)

Best of luck to you too Fred xx

It's just up the road from me, so I'm still in my jarmas at the moment :lol:

Were you the one wearing the Sunderland top today becs?

Yes that was me!

Did it in 76 minutes.

Really enjoyed the first half on the C2C and through the woods. Hated the bit where you left the woods and ran up the side of a field. I was near the back and by then it was churned up so much it was barely possible to walk on it never mind run! Struggled after that as I slipped there and twisted my knee a bit, but managed to keep going until the end. Enjoyed it overall and would do it again.

Yeah that part was ridiculous we all had to walk it as well and it was difficult to recover after that!
I was the guy at the top of the last bank who said you had a good sense of style :) xx
