It's deserved because it's the majorities favourite.

It was a very open theme this month, it was always going to attract landscapes. The winning shot could easily be a postcard.

I've never known someone get their knickers in a twist so much about something they haven't entered in well over a year.
 


It's like x-factor, I can't sing but I can still moan that the best singer didn't win, the most popular one did.

I kind of get this and agree a bit with you TE. We don't seem to talk about the photos any more. I'm still up for a bit of C&C - but I'm not going to really say much on the whole (C&C) any longer if no-one else does.

I'm amongst the least good on here and I'd happily take on board any pointers to improvement.

I was going to comment on this earlier but thought I'd wait until the competition closed (well it nearly has now anyway).

PP (post production) hasn't actually been declared as cheating has it? It is allowed. By saying it is cheating makes two of the entries look like they are "illegal" or "cheating" entries and they aren't. As runner of the competition you probably should not have posted that, or at least clarified to voters that post production was allowed. (I guess it was probably a tongue in cheek comment actually, and I "got" it. BUT for new voters who have no idea of the conversations we have had over the years re PP , they may well have thought two entries were cheating.)

I know amongst us, a few like to take photographs without Post Production. Others like to use Post Production. So far it has only remained a discussion point - it hasn't made entries to the competition "cheats".

And for what is worth I would have though PP was more like using something like photoshop or similar. An untouched photograph with a little writing , from Windows Paint or wherever, on the top of the photo is hardly PP!! The theme was "Holiday Postcard" and many postcards, though certainly not all, often have writing on.

Well it is, I have 3 posters twisting about what essentially is a bit of fun. 1 of which doesn't even enter and 1 who modifies the thread once I've posted it. Around the time PB gave up the running there were a few opinions of how to make it more accessible, this way was thought to be the fairest so that's how I've set it up.

PB, yes it was a joke. PP is allowed but as you well know, there are people critical of it (you included) so it was just a small joke, if anyone mistook it as a rule you have my sincerest apologies, let me know your address and I'll send everyone a bottle of wine for my error in judgement.

Anyway, this is the last I'm willing to debate about it. I'll post the winners details when it closes, just after 10

Aren't entrants allowed to comment any more? I wasn't rude, I just put a point across fairly I felt, there was no need for the sarky reply.

The reality is though that when you did used to enter you got no votes because your stuff was shit.

You actually take this competition more seriously than people who actually join in. Set up a judging panel man :lol: Get a grip of yourself man!

You could join in and try to learn but you'd rather be an attention seeking tedious bell end. I can't imagine this is how you wanted your life to turn out.

My "photography" is shyte, never claimed it to be otherwise but ffs don't try and tell me your a professional with that luminous digitally coloured monstrosity that had fuck all to do with the theme.

I bet you got a waterfall picture sitting above your mantelpiece don't you, that's why you're so angry :confused:

My comments to you have nothing to do with critique on my own photography, which I have never claimed to be professional or whatever. They are actually in response to your never ending sniping at the competition, which people enter for a bit of a laugh and for some learning and development. You are a constant source of negativity and offer nothing in terms of expertise. You are the photography equivalent of the socialist worker paper, unhappy with everything but clueless how to offer anything better.

I find it no coincidence that @oROSSo has decided he's had enough just offer your latest hissy fit.

We're entering a new phase with the competition though and I urge you to take an active part by putting in some entries. Show us how it is done.

Judging panel though :lol: your life man. Fantastic.

Putin's practicing for the next world war man, and the best you can think to winge about are garish, bonny colours.
Get yourself down to B&Q, get yourself a spade, and start digging a nuclear fall out shelter in the garden.
 
Bloody hell this is all getting a bit serious, I jus thought it was canny idea for a few snappers on the board to show some of their stuff and get them out using their cameras. Nowt seious.

I wouldn't care but the main protagonist doesn't enter, doesn't comment in the photography board, doesn't share anything of his own. Forty something fella sitting in his bedroom fishing for bites.
