I can believe 6 and it's vomit inducing skittles coloured sky is winning, you can't f***ing see anything for the frog !!

I'd perma-ban anyone for that sort of digital colouring in.
just that canon overwarm raw conversion and a touch over filtered on the top i think.

i've told the lad to try capture one raw conversion but he stubbornly refuses ;)

capture one is so much better than LR. The difference is amazing
for some stupid reason i did my first raw conversion in photoshop, and remember thinking, christ, i'd better not pack away my film gear just yet

It's that long exposure fog/mist, I thought that all died in the late nineties when we had that dentists receptionist flood, where every waiting room in the country had a long-exposed waterfall picture. Pretty sure the UN banned it in the mid-noughties when people were doing ridiculous year long exposures at waterfalls, it's vile and crass.

It also has fuck all to do with a postcard, you of all people know the dangers of allowing a public voting system, last months winner + you and a.n.other professional (or Ross as mod) should vote on the monthly winner.

:)

I agree on the me deciding the winner every month bit ;)

Worth noting that the most offensive dentist waiting room pic ever featured a jetty

The theme to me meant a postcard, complete with writing. If you sent the two leaders as postcards the poor dog on the mat would have it's eye taken out  I'm surprised and disappointed that @peachbum hasn't waded in on the subject of following the theme

Maybe us two are on the same hymn sheet after all ;)

but then we couldn't enter
I'd only win when I entered, all fair innit

but then we couldn't enter

Why not ?

3 judges with photography brains pick a winner, no wistfully wishing your mate could win, no thinking peachbum has a peachy bum and might show to you if you pick her, no getting hypnotised by all the bonny colours, three sensible people with an honest eye judging on a set of criteria, theme, composition, interesting, sexiness, phallic undertones or however else you'd think would be a good way to decide on the best picture for that month.

you've just added that bit. The person who came up with the idea never mentioned writing. One of the entries is straight from a phone, not even straightened, as whoever took the picture is against PP and sided with the people who complain it creates an uneven playing field.

I think she forfeited her theme opinions when she entered a photo of a photo and a tunnel as a bridge and argued to the death that she was right on both occasions and lets not talk about that time she glued animals to a trolley.

I can just imagine the twisting if I'm a judge and my picture wins, or ICYBD picks his own. This way is the fairest way, IMO.

It's always an uneven playing field, depending on many factors

For me, those that take the effort to most match the theme should do better in the voting. The two leaders are both perfectly capable of this ;)

match your interpratation of the theme, as I say, writing was never mentioned.

I've seen plenty postcards without writing.

Fairest way of what ??

Making sure the best picture wins, no.
Making sure certain people get a vote coz they voted for me last month, yes.
Making sure the bonniest, most sickly colourful picture wins, yes.
Explaining to people why a picture was chosen as the best picture, no.

It doesn't really matter does it, it's you and a few pals having a bit of a crack on every month, no one learns, no one gains, no one joins in, who cares !

That's why the entries are now anonymous.

The winner has nearly 50% of the vote, it's the most popular shot, just got you don't like it doesn't mean it's not deserved winner.

It's not a deserved winner. It's just the most popular shot.

So you're happy it's not about the theme and you're ok with it being about bonny colours and pretty pictures, themes are irrelevant now.
