I'm thinking of getting this tomorrow instead go MGSV, as I've never been a fan of the Metal Gear games. I've watched a few twitch streams of it and it looks alright, rather than stunning, but I'm desperate for a new game to play.

Anybody else gonna bother with it, or is everyone going to be balls deep in Solid Snake?

Might get this. Could never get into the MGS games either, always looked like games I thought I'd like but then they just bored me silly. Even tried out that crappy prologue thing that was out recently and could get through it. Decent reviews out for mad max too.

I got this. It's pretty good. Loving all the names and the whole film aesthetic. It's captured the Mad Max feel perfectly so I'm happy with it. I'm about three hours in and it's still a bit 'go here, fetch that, collect scrap' so hopefully it'll start to open up a bit after the initial introduction stuff.

Mid 70s on metacritic so not bad but not brilliant. I think you have to be into the whole mad max thing to properly like it.
You are sat there throwing handfuls of sand into a fan that's pointing at your face while you play it aren't you?
Any references to the old films or only the new one?

Not many film references at all really, apart from Max's back story. The names of the characters sound like they could be straight out of the films, although they're not, and you have to go to gastown and they mention bullettown which are just from the new film I think.

Mad max worth getting then?
I'd say so. The fighting is a bit button-mashy, like all WB made games (looking at you Batman/Shadow of Mordor), but the aesthetic is fantastic. If you're not a mad max fan you might find it a bit boring, mind. It's a huge desolate wasteland.

Got this out of boredom on the weekend and enjoying it so far like.

Cannot seem to get a map tho, or does it not have one? Just I can never find my way home and have to just guess hoping the thing I can see in the distance is the big lighthouse thingy :/

On the Ps4 you press the touchpad for the map, so there must be an option on the pc (assuming you're on pc). You'll enjoy it more when you've got sat nav, rather than trying to distinguish one area of barren wasteland from another!

And it's high praise coming from you, I can only remember you shitting on games! ;)

Sussed it yesterday by pressing buttons I'd assume could be a map like key :D Ends up it's TAB. Helps loads being able to target where I'm driving to!

Just had my first dust cloud encounter, fuck me!!
