This. ridicukous from SAFC. what planet do they live on? We're making losses hand over fist and they are paying this average donkey a clearly hefty wedge for sitting on his arse doing nowt because he isnt very good and not up to PL standard.

pitiful.

£20k per week is peanuts by PL standards. Poyet signing them in the first place was the problem.

Well of course the bigger and broader problem is the board at SAFc sanctioning the purchase of shite without asking the necessary questions.

Unless you have processed the SAFC weekly wage bill you have absolutely no idea what he is on.

so my question to you is this - "do you process the SAFC weekly wage bill/payments"?

i know how much he is on - too much - and way too much for any team that we want to unload him on to to afford. Scandalous.

Did you miss the word 'apparantley' ?
And as you say you know how much he is on what exactly is 'too much'

I can only imagine your reaction if Ellis Short overruled a manager on a player.
Well there has to be some controls on who we buy. If there isnt then whats stopping someone putting in a £20m bid for someone?

Short and the board run the club. If the DOF (failed model) wanted to fill the squad with half a dozen centre backs that should not be allowed. there are some very simple questions that should be asked by the board such as "how many of these players who play in this certain position do we have on our books", "who are you going to off load if we sign this player"...etc.

We clearly havent been doing things right as numerous things tell us eg bottom of the league season after season so the accountibility and question asking by the Board is either not there or extremely suspect.

Eh?

So £20k a week is mentioned in the press and nobody can repeat it unless they work for SAFC doing their wages?

Haway man grow up

If I was say, an Engineer in a small firm where I had shown I was competent, worthy of my position and got noticed by a larger, more advanced competitor, I might get head-hunted. I'd maybe get a higher wage, better conditions, more holidays etc. This is because my suitors would want to tempt me to join them. The big firms want all the best talent.

If I was then shown to have already reached my level of competency at my old job, and I couldn't in fact step-up to the new role, what should I do? I don't think I could expect to stay where I was, they'd get rid as soon as they were able so maybe I'd phone my old boss up and ask for my old job back. But.....Can I please have the same terms I'm now on because although I don't deserve my new T's & C's it's not really fair to make me give them up. If you won't pay them can you please ask this new lot to make up the difference after I leave them. Contracts, the root of all evil in football.

Just call me Confucius

The sporting director model has not failed. It's in its infancy and is recovering after appointing the wrong bloke the first time around. It's as if we were brilliant and didn't sign turkeys before it was introduced.

You have absolutely no idea if those questions get asked or not. I don't either. There were actually stories that Short wouldn't sanction moves for certain areas as we had players sat in the stands that could play in those positions.

We've certainly been slow learners, of that there is no doubt.

Surely the member of the board who should be asking is the DOF and he should be accountable to the rest of the board
