Whose been. Maybe going over on Monday for 4 days. Looking at just the south and South East area. Vesturhorn, Jokulsarlon and a couple of waterfalls in the area. Any info/tips would be welcome. Not a 100% certainty yet.

best advice rent a car and forget the tours, procar look to be the cheapest over there, about a mile from Keflavik. I booked through car del mar for best prices. DONT SPEED, $400 fine! Plenty of maps and stuff over there for all the tourist routes, not many roads once you get out of the city.

Think Ive got a guide book handy you can borrow - would like it back before October though!!
 
It's by far the best country I've visited..... Do t fall for the northern lights coach tours your far better hiring a car and heading out yourself.

that's very good, though clearly you don't have to go in winter to see the lights

also his bird is a wad

Thanks for the replies. I could only manage Monday to Thursday and it was going to be expensive. I would be spending all of monday travelling and leaving early on Thursday so decided to put the cash away and use it towards a week or longer next year. Quite informative that guide Sketchy. Thanks for that.
