Was just thinking this. Has the stuff I like in Gomez (love those threaded balls down the channels), calm, great touch etc, however is in dicks words is 'nasty', is great in the air and just has a generally more menacing presence.

Hope he can get up to the pace of the Premiership.

The fitness levels of our players as a group has been a f***ing disgrace this season.
 
I thought he was really poor, pulling out of tackles and running round like a headless chicken, looks like another crap signing on the books. But he got an assist so he must be world class :confused:
 
He looked canny for 15 mins then nowt imo. Didn't expect anything from him so still an ok debut. M'vila on the other hand is a few levels above owt else we have at the club. A proper footballer.
 
He will get sharper as he gets more minutes. Dick said he will be excellent when he adjusts to playing attacking midfield again as he's been used as a target man for Rennes. Looks promising, he did fade badly in the last 15 mins but his contribution before that was a telling one. I'm looking forward to seeing more!

It's what he lives for. That's why he's so bi polar. Plays to both sides to get more likes.

It's a football forum for people to air their opinions. I'm also of the opinion that toivonen (who dick admitted was not his first choice) is not the type of player we needed.

It doesn't mean I'm not delighted he made an assist yesterday.

It doesn't mean I'm going to boo him at games

I'll accept he's our player and support him the whole of his career here. If he does well I'll admit I was wrong. If he doesn't I won't be desperate to get on here to say I told you so. I'll be disappointed.

What makes people want to say I told you so is people immediately jumping on people's opinions and calling them names after 45 mins of football. It's pathetic. I'm sure the lad is waiting to see how the lad does like the rest of us regardless of his initial opinion.

Had a decent 10-20 mins then was out the game, which is understandable as we were hanging on.
 
Chuffed to bits with him. Couldn't care less what other people think/thought. Seems to have the lot from his brief spell on the pitch. Lacks a bit of fitness but its early season. Very happy. Seems the real deal!
 
Should have hoyed him up top late on and brought Watmore on.

Looked very composed imo.
 
Still far too early to judge him but the thing I noticed about him immediately was his positivity. Nice go have a midfield player who hasn't had that trait 'Poyeted' out of his game. He looked forward every time he got the ball and was looking to feed Lens and Defoe as his first option rather than going sideways or backwards to retain possession.

Under Advocaat I think we'll be far more enjoyable to watch if we can get a decent striker to compliment our other attack minded players. Sort out the defensive 'issues' too and we'll be ok.
