This. The best version of the game was the cm03-04 which was the upgrade on cm4 and was the most playable. Since the Sega/eidos split the games have been pretty average with far too many bugs and as you say, takes far too long to get through a season. Haven't played fm15 in months
Takes longer than that when you watch the first team & reserves like I do

The match engine is pile of shite, the players dance about and the defence is all over the place, reminds me of us whatever team you play.

Aye it is like. Got no problems if I'm meant to lose the game (even if I win it it's still the exact same shite just from the other team) some of the mistakes they make just make it look absolutely ridiculous and it's a lot more annoying that it actually should be

f***ing loved that game. Still remember getting Hull into the Prem and Man U did me for the title on goal difference the twats. Would like an updated player list for it as the newer ones just take up too much time and are nowhere near as much fun imo.

Best, most playable version was the 01/02 version of CM3, though 03/04 was playable but littered withs bugs itself, but then anything would have been good after CM4 which SI were quoted as saying was "playable out of the box" but it was later kinda leaked out that there was a lot of pressure to release it and it really wasn't. Generally there's always a patch on release day, but IIRC on that one there was an absolute mountain of bugs which they were well aware of, but were having to prioritise. The problem was sometimes fixing one created another problem and they done themselves no favours on the initial release with their attitude to some of the criticism, especially Miles at SI.

Recent games are far better than the early CM4 variations, but become less of a game you can just pick up and play and as a result sometimes less enjoyable. Probably why there's more options to play the game in a more limited traditional way.
Miles Jacobson is an arrogant condescending bellend, lives permanantly in his own arse and blocks people on twitter if they raise concerns about in game bugs, utter prick

I've just got sick of 15 last week, I just ignore all that media shite balls to that. Make my assistant do team talks and interviews, pick a team and buy players haha. Takes me about 6 hours to do a season.

I've fired 01/02 up to mess about with until the new one comes out.

As people have said, Sunderland are shit on it and they will be for years. Think they are saddled with close to 200 million debt. It's near impossible to keep them up first season

Well that's not true is it, finished 6th in my 1st season with them 2nd the next ( was top the last game but blew it with a draw away to West Ham ) Im about 15 games in on my 3rd season with us now and sit top

started a new game recently with sunderland. up to march in 1st season, sitting 11th and could possibly push top 7 with a decent end but thats not good enough, the fuckers sacked me! never happened before, i was fuming. next season spurs took me on and i got 3rd. started badly the next season and sacked again, fuming. out of the blue in december barcelona offered me a job. they were 7th and I'm now 5 games from the end of the season sitting 6 points clear at top

Just search for a latest transfer update patch on google before you buy, there'll definitely be some for the last 2 or 3 season knocking about it.

I've been googling around as I play 2011 and I was wondering if there's anyway of updating it to a more recent database like 2013 or something. Any ideas?
