It might be alright if you ignore how they teach dips and pull ups form. Doing some compound movements to the point of exhaustion just sounds like a massive bad idea to me, turning a strength exercise into cardio is wrong IMHO.

When I did it, I got called bro a lot and then the guy running it who insisted on us calling him "coach" said "Suns out guns out" and I honest to god could have walked out there and then. Always wanted to fist bump after every set as well, f***ing daft and not for me.

Back to working out alone with me head phones in

It's only 50kg-ish off the untested, unequipped (without bench shirt) world record.

The lad should go for it IMO, especially if he's currently natty.

Aaaaaaaaand, he plays footy regularly!

Do not call them pull ups. They have never been and will never be a pull up. "Kipping" is what I believe the cult refers to the wet fish hang fly as.

Reminds me of this:

If a crossfitter is alone in the woods where no one can hear them, do they still talk about crossfit?

I smell bullshit
Yer I reckon he's less than 90kg - albeit his chest is by far the biggest part of him, it's a crazy number

Same, I didn't like the slightly clique/culty sort of feel to it.

I tried a Wearside one and thought the same, some took them selves far too seriously. And too much fist bumping after every lift/exercise etc. If you can keep up with the lifting aspect and upper body stuff though it is great all round exercise.

Plenty better ways to get a strength workout without feeling like a buff american cheerleader at the end

I go to Sunderland SR1 Crossfit - get a really good overall workout. Can't remember any fist bumping - just encouragement from trainers who are top notch.

John McFarlane, James Fitzpatrick (plays for Leeds Rhinos) & Claire Whitfield take my classes. Paula Armstrong also does classes.

Wrong sport mate. Nobody by that name plays for the Rhinos. He plays Union for Carnegie. Used to play for Newcastle Falcons.

I'm starting to question your entire story now.

Just read this on my mate's FB.......

"So last week I managed 2 this week I just smashed 12 muscle ups in the wod crossfit streams though my veins"

:D

Damn it - sussed :) Just knew he plays for Leeds and assumed it was rhinos (I'm not a rugby person). Knew he used to play for the Falcons - played for Westoe before that.
