Still worth buying...

There's no point imo. Backwards compatibility and the current gen of consoles are cheap enough. You can find some cracking deals.

Have actually looked at which games are backwards compatible? If you think it's worth buying an XBone for backwards compatibility you're goon.

Well firstly I wouldn't buy an XB1 full stop cos they're shite. But if he wants to play old games he may as well get the latest console to play the best of both gens. The XB1 is also more reliable than a 360 and has a Blu Ray player. He's looking at not much more money for a better Xbox which will play the 360 games anyway.

It won't just play any 360 game ya knacker. Only stuff that has a patch available. He could pick a pre-owned 360 and enough games to keep him going for months for under a ton.

So your suggestion is he spends £300 on setting that you think is shite to play games that may not be available. You are a bloody goon.

They are constantly patching the older games to work and the ones he's wanting may just be available. Then he'll also have the option to play better versions, next gen only sequels etc etc. I just think it's pointless buying an old gen console full stop.

If he was a gamer he'd have had one for years man. Nothing wrong with buying an old gen, look at how long the ps2 kept getting sold. We'll have another year of releases for them yet.

Aye that's fair enough I was just chipping in with an opinion. I'm not so sure how long they'll make them for old gen or support them actually technology seems to be moving so fast. I already notice a big difference in the first PS4 games and the current PS4 games like Batman (although I know at first they were mainly PS3 ports)

They'll do it as long as they can so they can sell more copies.

Yes, no question. Bet you could get half a dozen of the best games from the last decade for the cost of one brand new, bang average release.

Not to mention the cost of the console itself.

Xbox one + 3 crap games = xbox 360 + 20 brilliant games

Of course, it depends on if you've played the games on another console or PC before.
