Bairstow could take over from Buttler with Taylor batting at 4Mad that he hasn't had more opportunities.
If Bairstow doesn't nail a spot down he must be close.

Coupled with our obsession with pace. We don't seem to have picked taylor on his height and worried about him being bounced. Odd when he's a fantastic puller/hooker of the ball.Mad that he hasn't had more opportunities.

Odd when arguably the two best batsman of my lifetime in lara and tendulkar were of a similar height.
Bit of a joke he spent 2/3 years out of the England set up. Let alone actually playing.

For Notts not Middlesex. Not even on the drink! As the lad above has mention with Bairstow being a WK there could be a position for both him and Taylor and drop Butler.
I watched him play against Durham in 2020 for Middlesex and he was excellent. We bowled everything to him. short he p hooked and clipped away. Fuller length he just shifted his body around drove or defended.
I don't watch a hell of a lot of County Championship but apparently he's been been scoring runs for fun.

At no point this year have I said he should he have been in the test team as his form was rubbish till about 3 and half weeks ago. He's not been in a squad since August 2012, which I find surprising considering of how he's played forHe's a bit overrated on here like, people say it's a joke he hasn't been in the team but in place of who? Ballance has been a run machine since he was a kid. Stokes and root bother better players
He will get a chance in the future and he is a decent player but the selectors have been right in my opinion
Can't really disagree with you on Scotty like he's been marvellous. England are blessed with middle order players alone unfortunately. I'd like to see both in the side. Still hold hopes of Scotty bowling for England too mind.He got a 200 few weeks ago which is absolutely class but before that was having a poor season. Bairstow rightly ahead of him in the queue
I'd put Taylor in the same level as Borthwick, who I think has out performed him in the last few years

My liking of Taylor only extends to one day stuff. I think he's a smart player.
The too short stuff comes from KP, I haven't heard it from elsewhere and I think it's a load of tosh. A short player with necessarily see more short bowling than anyone else and if he's a good batter he must necessarily be a good player of short pitched stuff.
Bradman was short too.

Borthwick has outperformed him in one season in his life.
This seasons averages:
Borthwick 42 Taylor 45
Last season
Borthwick 43 Taylor 38
2013
Borthwick 39 Taylor 46
2012
Borthwick 21 Taylor 33

Bradman, Lara, Tendulkar, Da Silva, Kalicharran, Gus Logie, etc etc
On a trickier pitch and he will have scored 1000 runs 3 years in a row
To people forget he used to be a bowler, why do people quote averages from 2012, it's totally irrelevant
So how many seasons has Borthwick completely outperformed Taylor then as you claimed and which seasons were they?
He's scored more runs over the last few years
I'd prefer to see Borthwick given ago , I'm not sure why you are so against that. At the least very similar records but you are making him out to be the next bradman
I don't think he would have Scottys record if he played at the riverside personally
