Would an android box be the easiest way of playing emulators on the TV? I haven't got a HDMI out on my laptop, so was thinking of a decent box with a game pad. I'm fancying some old N64 and PS1 sessions.

Does your tv and laptop not have a standard vga socket? Its not as if the games you want to play are HD graphics

I've gone for just using my nexus 7 tablet. The graphics are still passable on a small screen and the games run really smooth.

Never understood this love for Android boxes, a laptop can do everything they can and more, faster and more easily.
Cheaper, has a permanent spot under the tv so no hooking it up to the tv as and when required. It's an all in one retro console. I can see why it's attractive to some.

I use my laptop personally.

Never understand why people would want a laptop permanently connected to their tv, or why anyone wouldn't want a permanent media box.

I don't have android box though.

Only connect mine when I want to watch something.
